Over 7 years our protection covered the total of 60 young birds who were ringed and safely left their nests.
Since 2014 we have been executing a program of active protection of Montagu’s harrier, a rare bird species from the Accipitridae family, in line with the guidelines of the Montagu’s Harrier Protection Program of the General Directorate for Environmental Protection.
It is a project in which we support biological diversity in the area of operation of our wind farms through protection of birds at an early stage of development. We put up fences around existing nests and provide the birds with protection against predators by spreading a certified fragrance repellent, completely safe for humans, animals and the environment. As a result we significantly increase their chances to survive and increase the population.
